Dear Editor:

Despite our best efforts, we fell short of the run-off election by about 100 votes on May 8th. As disappointing as it is, I couldn't be prouder of the campaign we ran. We stayed true to our principles, provided specific solutions, and presented a positive approach to leading Hoboken into the future. I am so thankful of my family and friends who gave so much time and effort to the campaign. I will never forget the time we spent together knocking on doors, shaking hands, and "kissing babies". This was an experience I will never forget.

As we move forward, keep your heads up, and feel great that our little independent, grassroots, volunteer-led campaign has truly made a difference. We provided a positive and productive view of Hoboken's future and built relationships that will last a lifetime. You can be sure I will continue to be involved and welcome you to join me as we continue to make this the best city in America. Congratulations and good luck to Perry Belfiore and Peter Cunningham who will be competing for the 5th Ward Council spot to be decided on June 12th.

He didn't say it exactly this way, but in the immortal words of Hoboken's native son Frank Sinatra, we "Did it Our Way" and are proud to have been a part of this little bit of Hoboken history.

Forever grateful,

Scott Delea
