Dear Editor:

I'm showing humble gratitude to friends whom are truly friends to me. It is with great gratitude that I show my most sincere heart felt thanks to my dear friend Carmelo Garcia.

Carmelo epitomizes what it meant to be a true friend.

As I have gone through my trials and tribulations the past four months, Carmelo was there to lift me up by the bootstraps. Not only did Carmelo lend a hand financially, he also opened his home to me; that's a true testament of a true friend.

There is an old saying that I firmly believe, "if you see someone is in need of help, don't ask if they need help, Help!" Friends is a word in itself; I have an undying loyalty to those who are loyal to me. I cherish all my friends and what they stand for.

I would also like to thank my mother Dorothy Peterson for being so understanding to my needs; my sister, Winnette Peterson for her prayers; Sandra Peterson for her utmost respect and confidence in me; Ida Serrano for being a dear friend with no limits; Dom Lucignano for just being a friend; Ed Stinson for his words of encouragement; a special thanks to Joe Grossie and to my most cherished and dear friends, George and Kathy McGuire for their continued support of me.

Friends, true friends are hard to come by. If you are ever in any position to really have true friends, try your hardest to make sure that you hold onto those friends. Real friends are hard to come by.

Sincerely,
Douglas M. Peterson
