Hoboken Councilwoman Beth Mason plans to officially announce her candidacy for Hoboken mayor, as well as her council-at-large slate, tomorrow morning. Sources have confirmed the following candidates for council at large: Vincent Addeo, Raul Morales Jr., and former Hoboken Housing Authority chairman Anthony Pasquale. More information on them will be posted in the future.

Mason's candidacy has been rumored for a while, but has been late in coming. In delaying the announcement, she may have lost some endorsements, including one that we'll be posting a bit later today in this spot.

Council people Peter Cammarano and Dawn Zimmer are also declared candidates in the race, as well as two independents.

I think beth needs to answer some questions rather than hiding in the dark, considering she is supposed ot be transparent.

CastlePoints is making good points. Wakeup07030 on the other sight and those other mason supporters who shout down anyone who asks legit question, you are losing people like me unless you can defend this junk she is pulling. All you guys seem to do is make things look worse for her by sayhing "lenzian" and "hcdo" over and over without actually addressing issues like these. we get it, dawn took hcdo money, NOW TELL US WHY BETH MASON IS BETTER????

Pasquale was on the HHA Washington with Troy for two or three years and didn't stop his dealings. If there is a logical explanation for why this person should now be spending OUR tax dollars, then Mason should provide it instead of hiding in the dark!!! Open govt anybody?

Will pasquale 'help' all of hoboken the way he helped the projects? The projects have really improved havent they?

And what have the other two done for Hoboken at all?

transparency, please, maybe a mason supporter can tell us, I do want to know the answers as a voter.

THIS IS APPALLING . Beth started off so well two years ago with all of those lawsuits but that only told us that she could commplain, not how she could govern.

So sad that yet another reformer who was good at complaining can't actually show any evidence of being able to run a mere campaign, much less a city of 40,000...

Now she is supposed to publicly show us what she can do, and she comes up with a ticket of people who have not lifted a finger to do anything good in town (either relatives of promientn people or people who have caused our town harm).

What about the people in town who have spoke out for open government, the environment, lower taxes? BETH COULD NOT FIND ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE TO JOIN HER TICKET???

I started worrying about her last year when she took shots at Dawn for taking money from the hcdo and acted as if she would never partner with a political group, then made overtures to brian stack (union city) and the russo groups.

SHe is losing those of us who once supported her. Dawn is at least open to other people's opinions and is not as judgemental and high and mighty as Beth.

BETH, YOU BETTER START WORKING WITH THE PEOPLE FAST, I still want to have faith in you, but anyone can spend money on lawsuits, show us that you can LEAD!!!!!!!!!!

I thought Beth is supposed to be a reformer. This looks like she has been bought out by the Russo Machine. The kind of politics we have been trying to rid ourselves of for many years. What a disappointment.

I can't believe I'm saying this but Cammarano's slate looks the best to me.
